Coming to the United States has always been my dream. I was born in Kerala, a small southern state in India, a place blessed with enchanting beauty, serene beaches, emerald backwaters, sprawling plantations, paddy fields and, most importantly, exotic cuisine. Kerala holds pride in being the hub of the spice trade in India and its spices are famous for their aroma, flavor and health benefits.

As my family’s only daughter, I used to help my mom with cooking and, even as a small child, loved trying new recipes with the best ingredients from local markets. When I married and moved to the United States, I found that cooking Kerala dishes, as well as those from other states in Southern and Northern India, kept me connected to my native country. Recipes poured in from my friends, family and acquaintances to help keep this connection alive. I have finally decided to work with Project Starfish to share these amazing recipes with people who love healthy and interesting food.

I always try to add a secret ingredient to a recipe to make each one extra special. Please feel free to send me your best Indian recipes. And keep checking our recipes page to find that special ingredient!

Recipes will be posted every two weeks on our recipes page. Like us on Facebook and receive status updates when new recipes are added to the site, and to be kept informed about other news related to Project Starfish India!
