Onion Pakoda (Ulli Vada)

Ingredients
- 1 cup bengal gram flour or besan
- 2-3 medium onion sliced lengthwise
- 1 small piece ginger, fresh minced
- 3-4 whole green chili, fresh minced
- 8 curry leaves
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp salt
- frying oil for deep frying

Instructions
- Slice onions lengthwise. Add chopped ginger, green chilies and curry leaves. Add salt. Mix the Ingredients in a bowl and mix well using hands by adding 1 teaspoon of salt.
- To this, add the flour, mix it gently adding water. The dough should be thick batter but at the same time not too hard.
- Now add oil to a frying pan. When the oil is hot enough add spoonful of onion batter to the oil. Reduce the flame to medium and deep fry the pakodas by turning both sides. Remove it when they turn golden brown. Serve hot with Mint Cilantro Coconut chutney.
