Amar Arunachalam

Meet AMAR, a delightful graduate student in physiology at the University of Michigan (originally from West Palm Beach), soon to be going to medical school.

Amar has done the initial research and questionnaire for studying anemia in women of childbearing age in our camps in Southern India. Anemia in pregnant women (in all countries) correlates with placental weight, birth weight, Apgar score, and birth asphyxia. We started our anemic women between 18 – 45 yo on iron. His goal is $5000 and he is at $3000. We are encouraging people to contribute to Project Starfish through his website so he can make his goal. $5000 will provide medications and lab kits for our camps, which are one of our biggest expenses.
